FPLC separation is performed as described in Lipoprotein separation by FPLC - Wiesner et al.

Mass spectrometric analysis

FPLC fractions are analyzed using the following mass spectrometric methods based on direct flow injection:

• Ceramide - ESI-MS/MS - Liebisch et al.
• Cholesterol / Cholesterylester - ESI-MS/MS - Liebisch et al.
• Lysophosphatidylcholine - ESI-MS/MS - Liebisch et al.
• Phosphatidylcholine / Sphingomyelin - ESI-MS/MS - Liebisch et al.
• Phosphatidylethanolamine - ESI-MS/MS - Liebisch et al.
• Phosphatidylethanolamine-based plasmalogens - ESI-MS/MS - Liebisch et al.
